Will the Playoffs Payoff?

Finally we have a playoff system in college football and the commity met yesterday and the first poll is going to be released tonight.  Everyones 4 teams will be different just depends on whos most deserving.  There will also be alot of deserving teams missing out on this 4 team playoff it will be similar to how the MLB playoffs used to be back in the day with only 4 teams very hard to get into.

My #1 seed is Florida State
Heisman Trophy winning Qb Jameis Winston of Florida State after winning the national championship

I think that FSU should be everyones #1 seed because they are the undefeated defending national champions so we should always let our champions defend their title if their undefeated right?  They havent played bad this year but not the best but the main thing is that their still unbeaten so for that they have earned the #1 seed.

The team that has obviously earned the #2 seed is Mississipi State.
Definatly the most impresive team so far beating LSU in Baton Rouge, and crushing Auburn, and Texas A&M.  MSU being undefeated in the always tough SEC West the best division in football is always saying somehting.  It isnt even a question if MSU should be in the playoff especially if they win out so i should basically just stop talking about it.

My #3 Seed is Oregon
Oregon`s star QB Marcus Mariota
Someone please let The Ducks and all their jerseys in the playoffs.  After all the do have the 2nd best Qb in college football and one of the most consistant top offenses in football.  The Ducks are always scoring 50+ points and always looking flashy doing it.  They always bring extra excitement to the game just like you never know what jesery they`ll wear EVER.  If they win the Pac-12 they should definatly get in it especially if their still only have one loss the ducks are still among the leagues top teams so i think that their deserving enough.

And finally my #4 and last seed goes to TCU
Another one loss team that brings the Offense week in and week out.  Their offense has been similar to Oregons putting up many points every week.  Everyone remember what they just did to Texas Tech last weekend... They put up 82 points!!!!!!!!! Those are basketball numbers people.  TCU also has a pretty decent resume coming out of the BIG-12 beating preseason favorite Oklahoma.  Their only loss came on the hands of Baylor who is a pretty good team in a game which they has a big lead which should say something I think that this team should still be undefeated but they lost give Baylor their credit but i still think TCU is deserving of a #4 spot sneaking by would be #4 Notre Dame and a very underrated Georgia team which is also deserving considering their play without their star player.

I couldnt quite choose a first two out so ive choosen a first couple out: Notre Dame they dont have a strong quality win besides Stanford but they are still a good team that played outstanding against champion Florida State.  Auburn they`ve played strong so far blowing out LSU, Texas A&M, winning on the road vs 4th seed canidate Kansas State and loosing a tight one at Mississippi State with only one loss they get a little bonus points for being in the SEC West and for being last years runner up.  Kansas State only one loss which was to Auburn they`ve also looked good with a strong defense they had a statment win against Oklahoma and have a tought schedule looking ahead playing a few teams in the bubble if they can win out they will have a strong case for that 4th seed.  Georgia only one loss they`ve been blowing teams out of late even without star running back Todd Gurly in the not as tough SEC East we`ll have to wait and see if they win the SEC Championship to qualify them for a playoff berth.  And Lastly ill put Arizona also only one loss a very underrated team. They had a quality win on the road against Oregon which some dont count as much because they probably won that game because of the questionable call from an official at the end of the game, but Norte Dame has had the same case so tough luck.  Arizona also features a strong high scoring offense which features alot of passing.

Teams missing out: Alabama, Auburn, Kansas State, Utah, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan State, East Carolina, Arizona, Arizona State, Nebraska, and the UNDEFEATED Marshall Thundering Herd

How Bout Dem Cowboys

The Big D`s Big 3
Dallas is turning a lot of heads this year.  Mainly because they finally have a decent O-line, and because they are staying healthy.  As I`ve been saying for the past few years Demarco Murray is one of the best in the game.  This season he leads the league in rushing by far and it has helped take much of the pressure off of Tony Romo.  Dallas hasn't had to lean on Tony as much as they usually do so that is improving his play, even though he has always been amongst the leagues best and consistently been underrated.  Dez Bryant has also been doing his thing consistently even with less passes being thrown by Romo because of Murray`s spectacular play.  If the Boyz can keep this up im smelling super bowl in Dallas !

Is 0-16 A Reality?

As much as I hate to say it 0-16 might actually be a reality this season for the Oakland Raiders.  With the hardest schedule in the NFL this year that is the biggest problem contributing to the raiders failure.  I think Sundays game against Cleveland was our best chance at getting a W but we blew it.  The Raiders really need to establish a stable running game we cant just have our rookie Qb Carr Throwing 54 passes a game and expect to win especially with our reciving core.  McFadden had only about 12 rushes this game we need him to get around 16 and Jones-Drew to have about 10 for us to finally get a W in the book.  One bright thing about the Raiders these past few weeks is ever since interim Head Coach Tony Sporano stepped in we have been playing much better. We actually have been in these games the past few weeks with most of them coming against good teams but we just haven't been able to pull out the W.  With the game this week coming against the Seahawks I don't really see a victory this week  but they have been struggling of late.  I think our best chances will come against the Rams, Chiefs, and Chargers. I don't think that we will finish 0-16 because our team is way to talented for anything like that but I think it is still possible. I think that we will sneak past the Rams and Chargers, I don't think that we will beat the Chiefs but we have a very good chance to pull it off.  Im personally praying for us to get a win this year to avoid the humility of 0-16 and the 9er fans that are all talk so please Raiders turn it around.   Just Win Baby

Rebels No Match for the Bayou Bengals

LSU Students Charging The Field After Big Upset Win Against Ole Miss
As I predicted LSU turned Ole Miss into Tiger Bait on Saturday.  LSU won the game in a low scoring defensive battle also as I predicted.  LSU`s QB play was straight up awful throwing multiple interceptions on not that many passes.  But the bright thing about this game was LSU`s defense more than limited the Rebel offense allowing only 7 points, and forcing interceptions.  The LSU defense and Crowd rattled Bo Wallace all game forcing bad decisions and unsportsman like penalties.  We got into his head and showed why we are way better than a #24 ranking.  Also our running game mauled through that such glorified Ole Miss Defense.  LSU also showed that we still belong in that title hunt, we still have a chance at getting to the playoffs if we can win out, Auburn can beat Ole Miss, Bama beat Auburn, Ole Miss beats MSU, and a few other games go our way and we will be back in contention.  this game just showed u can never count the Bayou Bengals out of it even with poor Qb play.     GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Its Not Looking Too Golden For The Golden Bears

So Cal is coming into this week 4-3 including a 2 game loosing streak and not really looking to get any better soon.  They are taking on Oregon this tomorrow night in Santa Clara.  Oregon a team which features one of the top offenses in the nation has only lost one game so far this year.  Cal has one of the worst defenses they often give up 40 + points.  I personally think Cal is about to get blown out this week they woulnt be able to keep up with Oregons fast tempo, and woulnt be able to score enough to match their score, especially since they havent been scoring much in recent weeks.  I predict an Oregon win 47-24

Is This New Orleans Year?

With the NBA season about to begin in a week or so the New Orleans Pelicans are the team looked at to make the biggest jump from last season ( besides the Cleveland Cavs which shouldnt count because they just got LeBron).  New Orleans is still a very young team with many of their players under 28 years old but they still have enough NBA experience to make a playoff push this season.  I think Anthony Davis will once again lead this team with his defensive ability and increasing offensive play to the playoffs for the first time in his career.  If Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, and Tyrek Evens can also have great years i think that the Pelicans can be one of the higher seeds in the western confrence this year.  If this teams chemisty can gel together we might be in for something special.  I predict the Pelicans to get 48 wins this year but possible even more if they can gel together.

Flaws in the MLB Post-Season format

Just like many of my fellow A`s fans im very upset with the MLB Wildcard formatting.  This season we ended up having to play in the wildcard game mainly because of the stupidest trade ive seen in my entire life, but thats besides the point.  The current format for the wildcard series is a 1 game winner advances.  Me personally i think its dumb because its not fair for the visiting team ESPECIALLY if they lose, which we did.  If the visiting team looses this game its basically like they didnt even make the playoffs...  If your the visitors and lose it also means you didnt even have a chance at playing a home game for the playoffs which isnt really fare for your home fan base.  I think a HUGE improvement would be if they changed the format to a 3 game series first team to win 2 games advances to the next round.  With the first two games being played at the higher seeded teams home field and the third game ( if needed ) being at the lower seeds home field.  The reason that i feel my format would be better is because it would have actually gave us a chance at playing a home game in the wildcard, and it also wouldnt even be a long series so i dont see why the MLB would have a problem with using it.  With this format if we won at least one game in Kansas City we could have forced a game 3 in Oakland and possible won the series at home.  I also think this is good because if we would have ended up loosing those first two games at Kansas City than i think we wouldnt have even deseved a home game.  As the lowest seed i think that we needed to earn this home wildcard game.  I think this formatting would be fair for both sides because the higher seed would get their two home games out of 3 and if their home games were game 1 and 2 if they won both of those then they deserve to not have to go play a game in Oakland and also this would benefit the lower seed because they would at least have the final game at home if they were able to win at least one game on the road.  So hopefully the MLB listens to what i had to say because i feel very strongly about this and hope it is used for next years playoffs.

Will #3 Ole Miss Be Tiger Bait This Weekend?

This weekend the #24 LSU tigers are taking on the #3 Ole Miss Rebels.  LSU is heading into this rivalry game comming off of two consecutive victories, with one of them comming on the road against the Florida Gators in a nail-biter.  LSU`s recent victories has many saying this Ole Miss game should be a tight one with some also saying LSU should pull off the upset especially the guys at tigerbait.com.  With the fact that this game is at Tiger Stadium that is a pretty resonable conclusion but, considering LSU`s qb struggles that might be a stretch.  I dont think anyone knows who will be the tigers starting qb for the long run but for now it might cause some trouble because both of them are struggling.  But if you look at these past two games LSU`s defense has been playing pretty well not giving up much points.  Also their running game has improved mainly talking about the freshman phenom Leonard Fournette`s rise hes looking like he could be one of the top running backs in the nation as soon as next season.  Senior running back Terrence Magee also stepping up last game with a huge performance its looking like LSU`s running game could be a serious factor in this game, but they will only have a chance of winning this if the home crowd can stay loud all game and rattle Bo Wallace, and if their running game can stay consitant all game against this top Ole Miss defense so that their struggling qb`s woulnt have to do to much in this one.  I think that this will be a very low scoring game because of the two strong defenses.  LSU`s defensive secondary should limit big plays from qb Bo Wallace to keep this game low scoring and at the end i think that LSU should come on top with a score of 20-18

Can The Cajuns Continue Their Rage On Their Sun Belt Foes?

This season started out pretty rough for the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin Cajuns.  They started out the season winning their first game of the season in a 45-6 rout of the much weaker Southern University Jaguars but, lost the next three games in blowouts.  But you can cut the cajuns some slack with the fact that two of those three losses came against a pretty good Boise State team and the current #3 team in the nation the Ole Miss Rebels, while their other loss was in a game that they probably should have won against the in state rival Louisiana Tech.  But in the time since that third consecutive loss the Cajuns have won three straight including a big sunbelt confernce win last night against Arkansas State.  With their Senior Qb Terrence Broadway`s play improving slightly this month he has his Ragin Cajuns looking like the team to beat in the Sun Belt.  With a 4-3 record ULL is looking for a fourth straight bowl apperence and also a fourth straight bowl win, ( hopefully it wouln`t be an apperence in the New Orleans bowl because that would mark the fourth straight year in that bowl). But for now their main focuse is winning the Sun Belt championship. For now the question is can Lafayette continue their winning ways to beat out Georgia Southern to win the Sun Belt championship???

Peyton Manning the Greatest Ever???

Last Night on Sunday night football, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning broke Brett Farve`s record for most Touch Down passes in a career, which has lead many to ask is Peyton Manning the greatest quarter back to ever play in the NFL?  many people including me believe this to be true.  Peyton basically brings it every week.  About 95% of the time he throws for more yards and more touchdowns than anyone else and looks much better doing it than anyone else.  Even though he has a loosing record in the playoffs and the super bowl he has still won one already.  Also the one of the big deals about this that is often not brought up is that he ALWAYS brings his team to the playoffs, and most of the time he has over 11 wins.  He is also ALWAYS in the leagues top 10 in passing efficiency, touch downs, and passing yards EVERY year.  So basically I think everyone should stop hating on Peyton just because his team doesn't always come through in the playoffs every year.  Many people value super bowl rings WAY too much, people act like when someone has more super bowl wins than another it means that their a better player.  As an example Peyton shouldn't EVER be compared to players like Eli Manning, and Joe Flacco.  Those are two pretty good Qb`s and all but their talent, knowledge, and performance is nowhere near to Payton or his accomplishments.  I know that Eli has won more super bowls than his brother but he is nowhere near as good of a player.  Eli`s two super bowls were pretty lucky considering the fact that he beat the 19-0 Patriots it surely took a huge amount of luck to come out of there with a victory, ( mainly considering the David Tyree over the head catch), and also he rarely ever takes his team to the playoffs and his team usually finishes either below .500 or around 8-8, while he throws around 20 interceptions plenty of times.  And Peyton on the other hand brings his team to the playoffs with his team among the NFL`s elite teams in record.  The only QB of this era that could respectively compare to Peyton is Tom Brady besides that no one can even come close.  If anyone beats Payton in the playoffs its usually Tom Brady and the patriots.

Is Cal foreal or not????

Coming off of last years ( 1-11) very disappointing year Cal has come out on fire at ( 4-2 ).  But what is the real Cal team? The team that crushed Sacramento State 55-14 or the team that gave up a NCAA record for passing yards in one game against Colorado and that lost embarrassingly at home 31-7 against Washington.  So far this year the whole Cal team as a whole has looked much improved compared to last season.  Having already beat their mark for wins from last season it looks like Cal is moving into the right direction.  BUT their defense has looked drastic in almost every game.  Cal`s defense is allowing 38.8 points a game and over 500 yards!!!  that is easily among the bottom of the NCAA in statistics.  Besides their defense Cal`s offense has been one of the best in the nation by far if you don't look at this weekends loss to Washington.  Jared Goff has lead this team to 4 wins by winning 3 shootouts.  Jared has had to put up at least 40 to win almost every game I think that's asking a little to much to ask from the true sophomore qb from Marin Catholic.  With most offenses only scoring around 20-30 points each game asking Cal to score 40-60 just to win is ridiculous.  So for Cal to even be thinking about a rose bowl birth their defense will need to step up in a big way for the rest of the season especially with Oregon and UCLA coming up very soon. And Cal cant allow anymore last second game winning hail mary td throws to end a game like the one against Arizona earlier this year.  I think my question will be answered quickly as the Bears prepare to take on UCLA this weekend in what it looks to be as a must win for both sides.

Coliseum City In Oakland KEEP The A`s & Raiders In Oakland!!!!

These awesome proposed new stadiums would keep the Oakland Raiders and Athletics in the city of Oakland!!!!!  The O.co coliseum is the current home of both teams located in east Oakland.  The current coliseum is pretty old and is aging.  There has been many complaints about it which I don't see when I go to games.  When I go to A`s and Raider games I still see a beautiful stadium which I attended many games in my life time.  I see nothing wrong with our current stadium it still works perfectly fine and the right field bleachers are still by far the best in the league.  But if this goes through ill still be very happy that my favorite teams are staying home where they belong in Oakland.  I think these new stadiums will be very good for Oakland`s economy and will also help the teams.  New stadiums will help attendance soar through the roof and will bring back some old fans who recently bandwagoned to the other side of the bay.  But the most important thing about this whole thing is that it will keep the Athletics and Raiders in Oakland!!!!

Soccer Revolution in America? No

Recently in America there has been alot of new-commers to the game of soccer which has lead to this so called "soccer revolution".  Me personally i dont like soccer at all and i think that many of these soccer bandwagoners will very soon realize that it is football season and fall off of this soccer bandwagon.  Many people think this is only the beginning for USA soccer and that our country will soon be a soccer power.  I`m strongly against this and truly think that this soccer thing is only a trend because of the world cup, and the USA`s so called success in it.  USA only made it passed a few rounds in the world cup and people think that it was such a success but it wasnt really anything special but a lucky run.  I really hope this soccer thing will end soon so my country can go back to the sport that we really love.

Huge game for Derek Carr in a loss

The Oakland Raiders rookie QB Derek Carr played huge in their loss today vs the San Diego Chargers.  Carr threw for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns on 18/34 passing with 1 interception.  The Raiders had a very nice game compared to all of their previous games this season.  The Raiders O-line also kept Carr off the ground today not allowing a single sack.  This game was Oakland`s first game since firing head coach Dennis Allen 2 weeks ago following their loss to the Dolphins in London.  Their new head coach (for now) Tony Sparono nearly lead the team to a win.  I think this game was a step in the right direction to a bright future for the Raiders, nearly coming out with the victory against one of the NFL`s best teams in their first game with a new head coach is a very nice mental victory for now.  With the team that we have I think with an not so difficult schedule we would actually have a chance at making the playoffs with a lower seed.  Besides looking pretty impressive in today`s game I think that we actually have a pretty good roster this year.  We just dont have many chances to completely gel as a team because we have to play elite teams week after week.  Much of our best players joined our team this year so they arnt completely on the right page with the whole team yet. So basically i think next year we should be a team to be rekoned with.  But for now my main goal for this year is to stomp out the 49ers when they come to town so we can finally have some bragging rights for something.

Huge upcoming weekend for the Magnolia state

This Stadium is the host for one of the biggest games this weekend.  #3 Mississippi State university is hosting the #2 Auburn Tigers in a huge SEC West matchup.  Both teams are coming off of HUGE victories last weekend.  With MSU demolishing Texas A&M and Auburn crushing my LSU tigers :(.  MSU and their fearless defense comes into this game off of one of the biggest wins in school history, and a huge jump in the polls all the way to #3.  They looked very impressive in last weeks win over Texas A&M scoring in bunches, and limiting A&M`s freshman phenom Kenny Hill.  MSU`s Heisman candidate Dak Prescott is having a steller year already having thrown for 13 tds and their defense limiting opponents. They also had a great upset win on the road in Baton Rouge against my LSU tigers who have so far been having an off year.  And then theirs Auburn, who is favored in this game by 2.5 according to ESPN coming off of a huge blowout of LSU last weekend and a national title run of last year have also looked impressive this year.  The only thing that hasn't looked excellent for them this year is a not so good game on the road against Kansas State earlier this year where they sneaked out with a victory.  Nick Marshall is having a pretty good year not so good statistical but a good year all around leading his team to a #2 ranking and a undefeated start.  But I think the home field advantage and the rowdy Mississippi crowd with their cowbells will overwhelm Auburn a little and elevate MSU`s already tough defense and ultimately lead them to another victory.

                                                                     Ole Miss vs Texas A&M

Texas A&M`s freshman Phenom Kenny Hill

Ole Miss is coming off a huge win last weekend vs the Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas A&M is coming off that loss to Mississippi state.  I personally think that Ole Miss is a little over rated. Their team is still young with that good recruiting class from last year only being sophomore`s this year.  Bo Wallace is still streaky he has a good game then a bad. I think that will continue this week he had his moment last week in the win vs bama I think he will struggle vs A&M even tho their defense isn't that good. I think that the freshman Kenny Hill will Bounce back this week and have another big game like before.  His scrambling ability will take over this week and he will be able to avoid Mississippi`s pass rush and lead his high scoring offense to a win this week.  So that whole Magnolia state takeover from last week will be short lived for now because only one of their teams is ready at the moment.

#12 Oregon Vs #18 UCLA

This Weekend the #12 Oregon Ducks are taking on the #18 UCLA Bruins.  With both teams coming off of big upset losses last week this game is a must win for both sides if they still want a chance of getting into the college football playoff.  Oregon is favored by 2 points in this game but I think that they will crush the spread and demolish UCLA this weekend in Pasadena.  Oregon won this game last year at home in crushing fashion 42-14 so why cant they do it again this year?  I think that this years UCLA team is VERY overrated. I`m pretty sure that they`ve been favored in every game this year and many of their wins have come in very close games which many of them they should have been blow out wins.  Aside from their lost last week at Arizona which should have been a win, Oregon has looked very impressive this year winning many of their games in blowouts.  When looking back at last years contest, I think that Oregon will win this game by at least 17. Last years game was supposed to be a close shootout kind of game which ended in a blowout.  Oregon dominated in every category.  Gaining 555 total yards, completing 21-28 pass attempts, gaining 325 rushing yards on 53 attempts while gaining 6.1 yards per rush.  So basically I think Marcus Mariota will have a huge bounce back game resulting in a huge Oregon blowout.

Where will the Raiders go from here????

The Oakland Raiders so far have had a very rough start to their season.  Although they made many key additions to their roster over the offseason including Oakland native Maurice Jones-Drew they still haven't been able to overcome this huge slump they`ve been in over the past 10 or so years.  Ever since their Super Bowl loss in 2003 they`ve been one of the worst franchises in the NFL.  Since then they have made plenty of horrible high draft choices including Darrius Hayward-Bay,  D.J Hayden , and LSU`s own Jamarcus Russell.  Oakland`s Fans have been in complete devastation for the past few years ever since the 49ers recent emerge to the top of the NFL.  In addition to the raiders horrible start they have also fired their head coach of the past two years Dennis Allen who posted an (8-28) record in his time with the Raiders.  Where will the Raiders go from here

This Picture below clearly describes how the Oakland Raiders have played over the past 10 years.

The Tiger Bowl

This Saturday LSU is preparing to take on one of their arch rivals the Auburn Tigers. This game is often called the Tiger Bowl.  This rivalry dates back to 1901 a game which Auburn won 28-0, but LSU leads the all-time series record with 27 wins 20 losses and 1 tie.  Currently LSU has won every meeting since 2011 including a 35-21 victory last season in Baton Rouge.

LSU comes into this game ranked 15th in the nation with a 4-1 record including a 63-7 blowout win against New Mexico State last weekend.  Auburn comes into this game ranked 5th in the nation with a nice undefeated 4-0 start.  Auburn is favored by 7.5 points this week in this rivalry game which is in Auburn, Alabama.  Following their very impressive performance against New Mexico State last weekend, I think LSU will cover the spread this week and ultimately win this game because of their strong running game and top of the line defense. This game will also be the first collegiant start for LSU`s freshman quarterback Brandon Harris. I think he will perform very well this week and ultimately lead LSU to their first SEC win of the year

And heres a video from LSU`s BIG win last week
